As far as I know, choosing a starting faction just determines what your pre-built deck is. So no matter what you choose you get all the starter cards, but you have a pre-built deck consisting entirely of whatever faction you chose.
Also maybe we should have a thread for asking and answering game play questions... I guess I could make one, or something, I don't know.
